tracheae
Airways to lungs
Tracheae is the plural of trachea, the tube that carries air from the throat to the lungs—the windpipe.
In insects and other arthropods, tracheae are the network of tiny tubes that deliver oxygen directly to tissues, bypassing the need for blood to carry it.
The tracheae branch throughout the insect's body.
