Hook-and-loop closure
Velcro is a fastening system using two strips—one covered with tiny hooks, the other with soft loops—that grip when pressed together and separate with a distinctive ripping sound.
The trademark has become generic for any hook-and-loop fastener: shoes with velcro straps, velcro the badge to your shirt.
As a verb, to velcro something is to attach it this way.
