toasting
Honoring with drinks
Toasting is heating bread or other food until browned and crisp: The smell of toasting bagels filled the kitchen.
It also refers to the act of raising glasses in honor of someone or something: After much toasting, the wedding guests were thoroughly drunk.
In Jamaican music culture, toasting is a style of rhythmic chanting over beats, a precursor to rap.
