thoughtcriminal

Unapproved ideas holder

A thoughtcriminal is someone guilty of thoughtcrime—holding beliefs or opinions forbidden by an authority.

The term comes from George Orwell's novel *1984*, where the totalitarian state punishes citizens for unapproved thoughts.

Now used to describe anyone persecuted for dissenting views or, sarcastically, someone who holds politically incorrect opinions: According to HR, I'm a thoughtcriminal for questioning the new policy.
