thinkable

Able to imagine

Thinkable describes something that can be conceived or considered—an idea that the mind can entertain.

It appears most often in negative contexts: the unthinkable, or It's not even thinkable that we'd miss the wedding.

When something becomes thinkable, it enters the realm of possibility: Nuclear war was suddenly thinkable.
