thai chili

Small hot pepper

Thai chili is a small, slender hot pepper common in Southeast Asian cooking.

Despite their size—typically one to two inches—they pack considerable heat, rating 50,000 to 100,000 on the Scoville scale.

They appear in curries, stir-fries, and dipping sauces, often used whole or sliced thin: The soup was studded with thai chilies.

Also called bird's eye chili.
