testate
Having made bequests
Testate describes someone who has died leaving a valid will.
The opposite is intestate—dying without one.
A person who makes a will is a testator (or testatrix, if female, though this distinction is fading).
Legal contexts use testate to determine how an estate will be distributed: She died testate, so her wishes were clear.
