Will and Testament
Heir designation document
A will and testament is a legal document declaring how a person's property should be distributed after death.
The phrase is redundant—will and testament meant the same thing in different legal traditions, but lawyers combined them for thoroughness.
Today it persists as a formal flourish, though will alone suffices: She left everything to her children in her last will and testament.
