teleporting
Vanishing, then reappearing
Teleporting is instantaneous travel from one location to another without crossing the space between—vanishing from here, appearing there.
The concept belongs to science fiction and fantasy, where characters or objects dematerialize and rematerialize elsewhere: She teleported across the galaxy.
In video games, teleporting is a common mechanic for rapid movement: I teleported behind the enemy.
Figuratively, it describes any impossibly fast arrival: How did you get here so quickly—did you teleport?
