Graduation cap adornments
Tassels are decorative bunches of threads or cords bound at one end and hanging loose at the other.
They adorn curtains, graduation caps, throw pillows, and clothing: The scarf had silk tassels at each end.
Tassel also refers to the pollen-bearing flower cluster at the top of a corn plant.
As a verb, to tassel is to form or put forth such clusters: The corn is starting to tassel.
