Mortarboard's hanging cord
A graduation tassel is the decorative cord with a tassel end that hangs from the top of a mortarboard cap during commencement ceremonies.
Traditionally worn on one side before receiving the diploma and moved to the other side after: We'll turn our tassels after the dean announces us.
The tassel color often indicates field of study or degree level.
