talkfests
Marathon conversation sessions
Talkfests are gatherings dominated by discussion rather than action—meetings, conferences, or summits where participants talk extensively but accomplish little.
The word carries a dismissive tone, suggesting all talk and no results: The summit was just another talkfest with no binding agreements.
Political conventions and policy forums often earn the label.
