take-all
Winner gets everything
Take-all is a fungal disease that attacks the roots of cereal crops, especially wheat and barley, causing plants to yellow, wilt, and produce shriveled grain.
The name reflects how severely infected patches can destroy an entire stand of grain: The field showed classic take-all symptoms by midsummer.
Crop rotation helps break the disease cycle.
