tab stop
Column alignment setting
A tab stop is a preset position where the cursor jumps when you press the tab key.
In word processors and text editors, tab stops control text alignment—left, right, centered, or decimal.
Before computers, typewriters had physical tab stops that could be set along a ruler.
Set tab stops at half-inch intervals for the outline.
