suspension bridges
Cable-hung crossings overhead
Suspension bridges are bridges in which the roadway hangs from cables anchored at each end and supported by tall towers.
The design allows spanning great distances without intermediate supports—the Golden Gate and Brooklyn bridges are famous examples.
The suspension bridge swayed slightly in the wind.
