fords
Walkable river passages
Fords is the plural of ford, a shallow place in a river or stream where one can cross by wading or driving: The old map marked several fords along the creek.
As a verb form, fords means crosses at such a shallow point: She fords the stream every morning on her way to the pasture. (Capitalized Fords refers to vehicles made by Ford Motor Company.)
