subtweeting
Passive-aggressive posting online
Subtweeting is posting about someone on social media—originally Twitter—without naming them directly.
The target may recognize themselves, or mutual followers may figure it out from context, but the subtweet maintains plausible deniability: She's definitely subtweeting her ex.
The practice ranges from venting frustration to passive-aggressive sniping.
The verb is subtweet.
