strummer
Casual guitar player
A strummer is someone who strums—plays a stringed instrument by sweeping fingers across the strings rather than plucking individual notes.
The term usually applies to guitar players, especially those accompanying singers with simple chords: He was just a casual strummer, not a real guitarist.
Strummer may also refer to a mechanical device that strums automatically.
