hootenanny
Acoustic sing-along party
A hootenanny is an informal gathering featuring folk music, typically with audience participation in singing.
The term emerged in American English in the mid-twentieth century and carries a casual, down-home flavor: We're having a hootenanny at the barn Saturday night.
It can also refer loosely to any lively, informal party or commotion.
