stealth marketing
Hidden commercial persuasion
Stealth marketing is advertising disguised as something else—a casual social media post, a product placement in entertainment, or a person paid to use a product in public without revealing the sponsorship.
The goal is reaching consumers who would resist overt advertising: The company hired actors to pose as tourists asking strangers to take their photo with the new camera.
