Spotted dolphins are small, slender dolphins found in warm ocean waters worldwide.
Two species exist: the Atlantic spotted dolphin and the pantropical spotted dolphin.
Both are born without spots, developing their distinctive mottled markings as they mature.
They're known for acrobatic behavior and often ride the bow waves of boats.
