beluga whale
Arctic white cetacean
A beluga whale is a small white whale of Arctic and subarctic waters, known for its rounded forehead and lack of dorsal fin.
Belugas are highly social and unusually vocal for whales, sometimes called "sea canaries" for their chirps and clicks.
The name comes from the Russian word for white.
Also called white whale.
