splined
Cut with ridges
Splined describes something fitted with splines—ridges or grooves that interlock to prevent slipping between rotating parts.
A splined shaft has lengthwise ridges that mesh with matching grooves in a hub or coupling: The splined axle transferred power smoothly to the wheel.
In drafting, splined refers to curves drawn using a flexible strip called a spline, now often generated by computer software.
