welded joints
Heat-bonded metal connections
Welded joints are connections between metal parts fused together by heat, pressure, or both.
The term appears in metalworking, construction, and engineering contexts where permanent bonds are needed: The inspector examined the welded joints for cracks.
Unlike bolted or riveted connections, welded joints become continuous with the base material, distributing stress more evenly but requiring skilled technique to avoid weak points.
