skyrunner
Alpine trail athlete
A skyrunner is someone who practices skyrunning, a form of extreme mountain running that takes place at high altitudes, typically above 2,000 meters, over steep and technical terrain.
Unlike trail running on groomed paths, skyrunning involves scrambling up peaks, crossing ridgelines, and navigating rocky or exposed sections where hands may be needed for balance.
The skyrunners reached the summit in under three hours.
