shiatsu

Japanese point massage

Shiatsu is a Japanese massage therapy using finger and palm pressure on specific points of the body.

Like acupuncture, it draws on traditional ideas about energy flow, but uses pressure rather than needles: I booked a shiatsu session to relieve my back tension.

The word comes from Japanese for "finger pressure."
