ki

Vital internal energy

Ki is the Japanese term for vital energy or life force believed to flow through all living things.

The concept parallels Chinese *chi* (or *qi*) and appears frequently in martial arts, meditation, and healing practices: The aikido master taught us to extend our ki.

In video games and anime, ki often manifests as a visible power that characters harness for attacks or defense.
