Flippered ocean reptile
A sea turtle is a large marine turtle with paddle-shaped flippers adapted for swimming.
Unlike land tortoises, sea turtles spend nearly their entire lives in the ocean, coming ashore only to lay eggs.
Several species are endangered.
The unhyphenated form sea turtle is more common.
