sea-lane
Ocean traffic route
A sea-lane is an established route across the ocean regularly used by ships, analogous to a highway on land.
Sea-lanes follow paths that are safe, efficient, and well-charted: The Strait of Malacca is one of the world's busiest sea-lanes.
Also spelled sea lane or sealane.
