Hand smoothing tool
A sanding block is a handheld tool that holds sandpaper flat against a surface, providing even pressure and preventing the paper from bunching or tearing.
The block may be rubber, cork, wood, or foam, shaped to fit the hand comfortably.
Using a sanding block produces smoother results than sanding by hand alone: I wrapped the sandpaper around a sanding block and worked the edges of the cabinet doors.
