sander
Wood finishing machine
A sander is a power tool that smooths surfaces by abrasion, typically wood.
Sanders come in various types—belt sanders for heavy material removal, orbital sanders for finishing work, palm sanders for detail.
The tool vibrates or rotates sandpaper against the surface: I used a sander to strip the old finish off the deck.
