ring finger

Wedding band's home

The ring finger is the fourth finger of the hand, between the middle finger and the pinky.

It gets its name from the Western tradition of wearing wedding and engagement rings on this finger: He slipped the band onto her ring finger.

The left ring finger is traditional for wedding rings in most English-speaking countries, though some cultures use the right.
