rills
Slender water channels
Rills are small streams or rivulets—narrow channels of water trickling down a surface or through terrain.
The word appears most often in poetry and descriptive writing: Rills of snowmelt carved the hillside.
In geology, rills are the tiny erosion channels that form on slopes during rainfall, the first stage before gullies develop.
