resizing

Altering the fit

Resizing is changing the dimensions of something—making it larger or smaller.

The term appears most often in computing, where you resize windows, images, or files: I spent an hour resizing photos for the website.

Outside digital contexts, resizing applies to physical alterations: The jeweler is resizing my ring.
