letting out

Permitting to exit

Letting out is releasing something confined or contained: letting out a sigh, letting out the dog.

To let out a garment is to enlarge it by undoing seams and using extra fabric.

Letting out can also mean dismissing or ending: School is letting out early today.

In real estate, letting out is renting property to tenants.
