rescaling
Changing the magnitude
Rescaling is adjusting something to a different scale or proportion.
Data gets rescaled to fit within a standard range; images get rescaled to different dimensions; maps get rescaled to show more or less detail.
The term appears most often in technical contexts—statistics, graphics, computing—where values must be transformed to match new parameters: After rescaling the variables, the model performed better.
