radiophonic

Relating to broadcast

Radiophonic describes sounds produced or transmitted by radio, or more specifically, sounds created electronically for broadcast—particularly the experimental audio effects and electronic music pioneered by studio technicians in the mid-20th century.

The BBC Radiophonic Workshop became famous for creating the eerie soundscapes of early Doctor Who: radiophonic effects, radiophonic composition.
