American big cat
A puma is a large wild cat native to the Americas, also called a cougar or mountain lion.
It's the largest cat that can purr but cannot roar.
The tawny coat and solitary hunting style make it distinctive among American predators: A puma was spotted near the hiking trail. (Capitalized Puma is the sportswear brand.)
