political freedom
Citizens' participatory rights
Political freedom is the ability to participate in governance and express views without state interference—freedom of speech, assembly, religion, and the press, plus the right to vote and seek office.
Distinguished from personal freedom (autonomy over one's body and choices) and economic freedom (control over property and labor).
The revolution promised political freedom but delivered only chaos.
