repledge
Vow a second time
To repledge is to pledge again—typically to offer something already pledged as security for a new obligation.
In finance, a broker may repledge a client's securities as collateral for the broker's own borrowing: The firm repledged customer shares to secure its credit line.
The practice is regulated because it creates layered claims on the same assets.
