phone-ins

Listener broadcast participation

Phone-ins are broadcast programs where listeners or viewers call to participate, typically to ask questions, voice opinions, or share experiences on air.

The format is common on radio talk shows and television programs: The host took calls during the morning phone-in.

A phone-in can also refer to an individual call to such a program, or to any event where participation happens by telephone: a phone-in vote, a phone-in competition.
