oversewing
Seaming fabric borders
Oversewing is a sewing technique where stitches pass over the edge of fabric to join pieces or prevent fraying.
The needle goes through and wraps around the edge repeatedly, creating a visible diagonal pattern.
It's commonly used in bookbinding to attach pages and in mending to reinforce seams: She spent the afternoon oversewing the torn quilt.
