bias binding
Diagonal fabric strip
Bias binding is a narrow strip of fabric cut on the bias—diagonally across the weave—giving it stretch and flexibility.
It wraps around raw edges of garments or quilts to finish them neatly: She trimmed the neckline with bias binding.
The diagonal cut allows it to curve smoothly around corners and armholes without puckering.
