outside lane
Fast traffic strip
The outside lane is the lane of a road or track farthest from the center or inside edge.
In countries that drive on the right, it's typically the rightmost lane; in Britain, the leftmost.
On highways, the outside lane is often the slow lane, while on racetracks it means the longest path around a curve: She moved to the outside lane to pass.
