orangery
Glass citrus house
An orangery is a building or greenhouse designed to shelter citrus trees and other tender plants during cold months.
Originally features of grand European estates, orangeries typically have large windows or glass walls to admit sunlight while protecting plants from frost.
The term now sometimes describes any elegant garden room or conservatory, whether or not it houses orange trees.
The estate's 18th-century orangery has been converted into a café.
