offensive zone
Opponent's defensive end
In hockey, the offensive zone is the area between the opposing team's blue line and goal line—the ice where your team attacks.
Teams work to gain and maintain possession in the offensive zone to create scoring chances: They kept the puck in the offensive zone for nearly a minute.
The term applies similarly in other sports with defined attacking areas.
