tend
Look after something
Tend means to be inclined toward something or to move in a particular direction: I tend to agree, Prices tend to rise in summer.
The word suggests a general pattern rather than certainty.
Separately, tend means to care for or look after: tend the garden, tend to the wounded.
A bartender tends bar; a shepherd tends sheep.
