nunchucks

Linked striking sticks

Nunchucks are a martial arts weapon consisting of two short sticks connected by a chain or cord, swung and spun to strike opponents.

Popularized in the West through Bruce Lee films and ninja mythology, they became an icon of 1970s martial arts culture: He practiced with nunchucks in the garage.

Also spelled nunchaku, from Japanese.
