nucleolus

Nucleus's inner body

The nucleolus is a dense structure within a cell's nucleus where ribosomes are assembled.

Most cells have one or more nucleoli, visible as dark spots under a microscope.

The nucleolus disappears during cell division and reforms afterward.

Plural: nucleoli.
