ninepins
Nine standing targets
Ninepins is a bowling game in which players roll a ball to knock down nine wooden pins arranged in a diamond or square pattern.
The game predates modern ten-pin bowling and was once common in Europe and colonial America.
They set up ninepins in the backyard.
The word can refer to the pins themselves or the game as a whole.
